Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Verge ("the Software"), a product of SocietyServe ("we", "us", "our"). By purchasing, downloading, installing or using Verge, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1. What Verge is

Verge is a Windows application that runs on your own computer. It links to your existing WhatsApp account, stores a copy of your message history in a database on your machine, and allows an AI assistant installed on that same machine (such as Claude) to answer your questions about that history. Verge is a tool that runs locally; we do not operate it on your behalf and we do not receive your messages.

2. Not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta

Verge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. It does not use Meta's official WhatsApp Business API. It connects to WhatsApp in the same manner as WhatsApp Web, which is not a method Meta formally supports for third-party software.

You acknowledge that using software that connects to WhatsApp in an unofficial way may breach WhatsApp's own Terms of Service, and that WhatsApp may restrict, suspend or permanently ban the WhatsApp account you connect. You use Verge on your own account and entirely at your own risk. We have no control over WhatsApp's systems and cannot prevent, predict or reverse any action WhatsApp takes against your account.

3. Licence

A Verge subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Software on the number of computers included in your plan (one computer for the standard plan).
You may not resell, sublicense, rent, share, or redistribute the Software or your licence key.
You may not copy, decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code, except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
We may revoke a licence key that is shared, resold, used beyond its seat limit, or used in breach of these Terms.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use Verge, including any messages you send through it and your compliance with WhatsApp's terms and all applicable laws.
You must not use Verge to send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, to harass, or for any unlawful purpose. Doing so is the most likely cause of a WhatsApp ban and is your responsibility, not ours.
You are responsible for keeping your computer, your WhatsApp account and your licence key secure. Your message history is stored on your own device; protecting that device is your responsibility.

5. Payment and subscription

Verge is sold as a monthly subscription. Payment is processed by Razorpay; we do not receive or store your card details.
Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
You may cancel at any time to stop future billing. Cancellation and refunds are covered in our Cancellation Policy.
Prices may change; any change will apply to billing periods after we notify you.

6. Software provided "as is"

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will remain compatible with WhatsApp, which may change its systems at any time and cause the Software to stop working.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SocietyServe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of business, or the suspension or banning of any WhatsApp account, arising out of or relating to your use of the Software.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the one (1) month immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SocietyServe from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the Software, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or of the rights of a third party (including WhatsApp and Meta).

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your licence if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Software at any time by cancelling your subscription and uninstalling it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 6, 7 and 8) will survive.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [your city], India.
